Joseph asks…
what is the best pill to take for a energy.?
Im thinking about going to GNC. Or were ever. I dont know what really works there is so much crap out there

Abest Energy answers:
The very best, sure fire way to have energy is to make it from within.
When you walk around the block – you are much more energized than if you sat on the couch.
A pill won’t do anything more than give you a quick caffine high.
For true energy – manufacture it!

David asks…
am i pregnant or could it be a tumor?
I know it sounds silly, but I’m getting married on May 19 th 2007 (to my hero by the way) and last Oct. I was measured for my dress (alfred angelo dresses only come in even numbers, so if I got a size 6 it would be to big everywhere else) the seamstress said it was best to get the size 4 made . So, of course that’s when the diet began:) I’m 5’7″ and weighed at that time 127lbs. I leveled out at about 113 lbs. up until about 2-3 week ago. I barely eat anything( today a bagel) and yet I’ve gained gradually about 6 lbs. My stomach noticably sticks out and looks like I’m about 4 months pregnant. I felt around my stomach and don’t really feel anything. I have been EXTREMELY tired the last 2-3 weeks, which is unusual because I take energy pills from GNC and am usually full of energy. I have also been noticably thirsty for water too. Which is also weird because I usually drink Bush N/A beer all the time.I don’t consumer enough calories a day to gain wt.so
quick.Hope this makes sense. Help!

Abest Energy answers:
I gained 15 pounds before my wedding. I think the stress that comes with planning a wedding and getting married causes weight gain. It would explain why your stomach looks bigger because the stress hormone stores the fat around your stomach.

Mark asks…
What is the best cleanse and “diet” program?
I have been reading reviews online and talking to people that work at my gym and at GNC, but I was wondering if I could get some feedback from people who have tried cleanses and weight management/energy powders to see what did and didn’t work for them. People that work at the gym or GNC seem to only push certain products for whatever reason…. I know everyone is different and therefore has different bodies, commitment levels, eating habits, etc. but I am looking to do a cleanse and find a good protein mix for after workouts as well as maybe more. I do not like the energy pills or things of those sort, they give me an instant killer headache. If anyone has any adive, suggestion, experience, etc with this stuff I would love to hear it. Thanks in advance!

Abest Energy answers:
Skye’s solution as well as ‘quick cleanses’ and ‘diets’ are the wrong way to think about weight loss.
This silver bullet mentality works well for companies selling products, but in the end its not sutainable and doesn’t make you lose weight long-term. Return to basics.
-eat whole foods (organic fruits/veggies/nuts/seeds/free-range meats)
-exercise (resistance training is better than aerobics/jogging)
-drink clean water
-avoid chemicals like MSG, aspartame, fluoride
-stay positive, visualize yourself being the weight you want

Paul asks…
Best legal over the counter stimulant? – ADHD?
I have ADHD, and don’t get officially re diagnosed and perscribed till monday. Stimulants have changed my life for the best, they give me energy, make me social, help me focus, and make friends. W/o them, I’m simply a downer. I currently take celexa a SSRI, but it doesn’t work worth a damn. I have caffiene pills, apparently 100mg of caffiene is compariable to 5mg’s of ritalin? Ephedrine was one stimulant, but I guess it got criminalized? Cause I can’t seem to find it at GNC or any of the health stores..

Abest Energy answers:
Unfortunately, over the counter stimulants are not good for you especially if you suffer from ADHD. As a matter of fact, it is very important that you do not use those type stimulants when you are taking medications to treat ADHD. If you are currently using a lot of stimulants, slowly wean yourself off of them. However I do understand your plight. Drink coffee if need be but don’t search out stimulants.
As for the Celexa…The Selective Serotonin Uptake Inhibitors, also known as SSRIs, are a type of antidepressant that specifically work on the neurotransmitter serotonin. They work by inhibiting reabsorption by the nerve cell that releases serotonin thereby allowing it to be transported to the next neuron in the synapse. If you don’t have enough serotonin you can suffer from depression, anxiety causing difficulty with concentration, memory problems and libido. If you have too much serotonin if makes it difficult to concentrate, you may experience grogginess, have memory difficulty, decreased libido and have an overall blah feeling. Antidepressants are used to treat chemical imbalances in the the brain. Balance is key. Do you suffer with depression/anxiety or is your problem soley ADHD?
Celexa is an SSRI that has an energizing effect to it. That is why some doctors use it on patients with low energy.
Effedra is a chinese herbal medicine used as an antihistamine and to treat many other respiratory conditions. It was marketed to the US in a dangerously potent dose equivalent to speed. Therefore, I will not discuss ways to get because it is dangerous.
I understand that you are used to being treated with stimulants. Your doctor may want to try one of the newer medications for ADHD that are non-stimulants. Even though they are non-stimulants they tend to be effective in treating decreased energy that is related to ADHD.
The problem with stimulants is that your brain gets used to them easily. Then the dosage has to be increased. The higher the dose, the more unsafe the medication is for you. Another problem is the long term side effects due to amphetamine use. I am referring to medicinal use. A couple of the long term side effects are addiction, an increased heart rate, blurred vision and psychosis. The psychosis tends to go away within days to weeks after discontinuing the drug.
So you see, the non-stimulant ADHD meds are a much safer route and they are equally effective. If you are hesitant, ask your doctor for free samples to see if the non-stimulant medication works for you rather than filling an entire prescription. However, if the non-stimulants don’t work for you, you may need the stimulant type medication.
You say that your appointment is on Monday. I hope that is Monday, August the 2nd. If it is, you have only 1 day to get through.
I hope this helps.
Hang in there. I really feel for you.
